Making Dreams into Reality. Milan of “Milano Di Rouge” Interview #FucYoPlug!

This past week I got the opportunity to chat with Philly fashionista Milan; owner of Milano Di Rouge. If you haven’t heard of Milan yet you have definitely seen her work being wore by your favorite artist or celebrity. Milano Di Rouge apparel can be spotted on anyone from athlete Lou Williams, Actress & mogul La La Anthony, rapper Meek Mill, to singer Keyisha Cole. It has become the perfect combination between couture and street wear.

As we began talking Milan starts by telling me what made her get into fashion in the first place. She explains “I’ve always been a stylish kid” so it came natural for her. We talked about her start as a blogger in the earlier days doing interviews with different designers to her now present day owning her own business and brand. Milano Di Rouge was officially created in 2012. One thing I really enjoyed was when I asked her what inspired her, she replied ” I can get inspired by anything” but it was the environment she said that inspires her the most.

Milan ended the year of 2015 with the relaunch of her website and “Milano Kids” her children clothing line. If all that wasn’t amazing enough she teams up with Mr. Bizness to direct her “Making Dreams Reality” short film #GirlBossPhillyEdition. This short film featured talented women in the industry who put in tremendously hard work while rocking the hottest gear. Miss Milan says she wanted to feature some amazing girl bosses with powerful roles like a stylist, a dancer, a author, and a make up artist just to list some. Check out the visual below its amazing!Β

One thing about Milan you can tell right away is that she is not just a “pretty face.” She is so smart and driven, I love how she uses her platform to educate. Her “Safe Sex Saves Lives” campaign not only educates people about HIV prevention but raises awareness in the black community. The future seems bright for Milan and the Milano Di Rouge family. Before wrapping up our interview she leaves some advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. Milan closes by saying how she thinks people should find what truly makes them happy in life because she strongly believes we all have a purpose in life.
